At the end of each academic year the Biology Department presents a number of awards to outstanding students.These awards are presented at the annual Science Banquet.
- FRESHMAN BIOLOGY AWARD
- Given for outstanding performance in the freshman level biology classes.Academic achievement, enthusiasm and attitude are taken into account in naming these award winners. Winners typically receive a dictionary of biological terms.

- SOPHOMORE BIOLOGY AWARD
- Given for outstanding performance in the sophomore level biology classes.Academic achievement, enthusiasm and attitude are taken into account in naming these award winners. Winners typically receive a subscription toScience News.

- JUNIOR/SENIOR BIOLOGY AWARD
- Given for outstanding performance in upper-level biology classes. Academicacheivement, enthusiasm and attitude are considered but we also look at leadership and impact on the department outside of the classroom. This award is not usually given to a graduating senior. Winners usually receive a subscription to Scientific American.

- GRADUATING SENIOR ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
- Recognizes a graduating senior who has achieved a high-level of professional growth as a biologist. This is usually an individual that has maintained a high-level of quality in their courses and has also made significant research contributions to the discipline of biology. Winners receive a book or membership in a professional organization in the field of his or her interest.
