Sound Playing and Editing

Gold Wave is a sound recording and editing program that will allow you to do almost anything to almost any kind of sound file. You can cut, paste, insert, delete, mix, filter, and much more. You can even create your own effects and filters and apply them to a part or all of a sound file. Goldwave runs in Windows ( 282k zipped) and understands most sound file formats including the Sun "au" format.

PC Speaker Driver makes it possible to hear sound files on a computer that does not have a sound card. The sound will usually be lacking mid-range and low-range frequencies because the speakers in most computers are very small and reproduce well only the high frequency range. The Speaker Driver (21k) is a selfextracting compressed file with all the software and documentation necessary to hear sound on a generic IBM compatible computer. It requires no additional hardware.
